  • CEO

    Ed founded Bluecastle in 2015 with a vision of creating a specialist, fully integrated real estate investment, asset management and development firm. Ed steers the company’s strategy and oversees the day-to-day operations of Bluecastle Capital.

    After a successful career in the equity markets at Merrill Lynch, Ed turned his attention to the real estate sector in 2001. Realising that there was an opportunity to combine his financial background with a passion for property, Ed teamed up with two former clients to build a specialist FCA authorised real estate asset management business with over £2.5 billion under management.

  • Senior Advisor

    Simon has extensive experience within the real estate sector, having enjoyed a successful career spanning four decades. During that time Simon has held senior positions within major financial institutions including the Head of Property at Gartmore, and the CEO of KBC Asset Management. In 2010 Simon led an MBO of the business to form Lothbury Investment Management.

    As well as working with Bluecastle as a Senior Adviser, Simon is also a RICS Governing Council Member. He is a past Chair of The Association of Real Estate Funds (and of the London Branch of the RICS) and a PRI Real Estate Group Member.

  • Director of Finance

    Markus leads Bluecastle’s finance and operations function across accounting, compliance, and investor reporting.

    Prior to joining Bluecastle Capital, Markus was responsible for finance, operations and compliance at Matter Real Estate. Prior to this, he sat within the Fund Management team of Carlyle's European Real Estate group. Markus spent a number of years at PwC earlier in his career, working in each of Assurance, Consulting and Deals Tax, where he built up a specialism in the real estate industry.

    Markus received a BA in Philosophy and Mathematics from the University of Southampton, as well as an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Sussex and an MSc in Mind, Language and Embodied Cognition from the University of Edinburgh.

    Markus is a Chartered Accountant (ACA).

  • Senior Associate

    At Bluecastle Capital, Philip assists in the initial high-level screening and underwriting process for assets suitable for residential development and works closely on the ongoing portfolio monitoring of Bluecastle’s BTR assets.

    Philip began his career in working in the land acquisition team for a retirement village developer and operator, shortly after this Philip moved into land and development advisory, working with landowners and developers across the UK to identify and promote land opportunities.

  • Head of Capital Raising

    Cameron runs Bluecastle capital’s fundraising function and has over 30 years experience in the financial services industry. His product knowledge covers the broad range of the capital structure 
including both debt and equity products.

    His career has been based on building networks of clients including; Pension funds, asset owners, hedge funds, and asset managers. Products and services have included; equity, debt, credit, options, fund services, out-sourced services, property and renewable energy projects. Cameron has worked for Union Bank of Switzerland, Merrill Lynch and JP Morgan.

  • Director of Development

    Peter heads the development function at Bluecastle and has over 35 years of experience in the UK property sector. He has held senior roles in various organisations, including Kier Group Plc and Solum Regeneration. In these roles, he acted as the project lead on numerous complex development projects, navigating through acquisition, planning, and delivery stages, culminating in a total GDV of over £1bn.

    His expertise spans across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments, with notable achievements including securing planning permissions and delivering high-value schemes such as Epsom Station,  Guildford Station and Twickenham Station.

  • Senior Associate

    Following a master’s degree in real estate at Cass Business School, Taymour works in both the origination team as well as assisting in the ongoing development management function at Bluecastle.

    Taymour’s background prior to Bluecastle Capital was as an agent, assisting buyers and sellers to source, identify, acquire and sell sites.

  • Associate

    Anna is an accomplished professional with university degrees in Economic Cybernetics and Finance. With over seven years of experience as a commercial and financial analyst, she brings a wealth of expertise to her role. Having previously contributed her skills to Nestlé, Anna has been an integral part of Bluecastle for over five years. She performs Bluecastle’s data analytics, origination, and research functions.

  • Investment Director

    Cyrus has extensive finance and private equity experience having spent ten years working within major financial institutions. At Bluecastle Capital, Cyrus is responsible for all aspects of Bluecastle’s investment process, from the initial underwriting of assets, oversight of each project through the development stage, as well as being responsible for asset managing the operational assets.

    Cyrus began his career at UBS Investment bank where he worked within the TMT Mergers & Acquisition team where he was promoted to Associate Director. Cyrus then joined the private equity team at Intermediate Capital Group where he was involved in all aspects of the deal life cycle from due diligence to portfolio management for over £3 billion of equity investments.

  • Development Director

    Barry is a Development Director within Bluecastle Capital with over 25 years’ experience in the property industry. He has been involved with a broad range of development projects and has an excellent strategic understanding of the key issues required to deliver complex developments.

    Barry was previously a Development Director at a number of large PLC organisations including Lendlease and Watkin Jones as well as Essential Living, a Private Market leading BTR specialist owned by Washington State Investment Board’s Evergreen Fund. His role in these organisations was to act as the Project Lead on a range of complex London focused residential schemes through acquisition, planning and delivery delivering a total GDV in excess of £1bn.

  • Senior Associate

    Natalia has been working as a commercial and financial analyst for the past 10 years. During her career, she has been involved in profitability analysis of projects and efficiency analysis of business processes across industries, giving recommendations for various business units on performance improvement.

    At Bluecastle Capital, Natalia assists in the viability assessment of deals including market research, data analysis, initial screening, financial modelling as well as further monitoring of transactions and business processes within the company.
