BlueCastle Capital has secured planning consent for a 21-storey residential tower in Stevenage.

Stevenage Borough Council has approved BlueCastle Capital’s plans to replace the former New Look store at 9-11 The Forum with a 69m tower that will provide 225 high-quality rental apartments. The development will include many amenities, including residents’ lounges, co-working spaces, a high-quality gym, bike parking and 24-hour concierge.

Construction of the tower, which has been designed by 5plus is expected to start in early 2026, with completion due in the middle of 2028.

Stevenage, located 27 miles north of central London with a population of 90,000, is set to host one of Europe’s largest life science campuses, establishing itself as a leading hub for advanced therapies. The town is undergoing a £1 billion regeneration initiative aimed at transforming the town centre into a blend of high-quality residential areas and an employment quarter expected to create 1,850 jobs.

Barry Coltrini, development director at BlueCastle Capital, said:

“We are delighted to have obtained the consent from Stevenage Borough Council for a landmark development that will inject new vibrancy into the heart of the town. This project represents our commitment to delivering high-quality rental homes in well-connected, fast-growing locations. With its exceptional design, premium amenities and proximity to the emerging life sciences hub, this development will contribute to the town’s regeneration and provide a fantastic living experience for residents”.

BlueCastle Capital has a seed development pipeline of more than 1,000 units across three projects in Stevenage, Cardiff and Sheffield. Read the full article in Green Street News to learn more about our plans for this site:
